TreeHouse is the national charity for autism education.  TreeHouse was founded in 1997 by parents of children with autism and today we campaign for better autism education nationally and run a school for children and young people with autism. TreeHouse undertakes policy and parliamentary work and research to ensure autism is a national priority, supports parents to campaign locally and offers training and consultancy on autism education.

Brian Lamb visits TreeHouse and takes part in live Q&A on talk about autism

On Thursday 11 March 2010, Brian Lamb OBE visited TreeHouse.  Following a tour of the National Centre for Autism Education he took part in a live Q&A on talk about autism.  He answered questions on the Lamb Inquiry, the report of which was published on 16 December 2009.  The inquiry has been looking into parental confidence in the SEN system, and the full report can be downloaded from the DCSF website:

TreeHouse is delighted that The Communication Trust will be dedicating the year 2011 to managing and delivering a nationwide campaign focusing on the importance of developing children’s communication skills.

Media workshop in Haringey a success!

The Parent Participation Project held its final communication and media workshop for parents and professionals from Haringey on Thursday 4 March with great success. The workshop was an opportunity for parents and professionals to work together to co-produce messages about parent participation and learn effective skills and strategies to engage with the media on this important issue.
