The cost and funding
TreeHouse purchased the land at Woodside Avenue through the generous support of The Bradbury Foundation, The Maurice Hatter Foundation, The Henry Smith Charity and The Garfield Weston Foundation.
Our focus is now on raising the £11.5 million needed to construct the permanent building. TreeHouse is fortunate to have 60% of the funds already pledged; we have been awarded a £5 million investment from Futurebuilders and Nick Hornby has pledged the film rights to his book ‘How To Be Good’, which may amount to £2 million. However, there is still £4.5 million to raise and we are working hard to secure the balance needed from a range of donors.
Futurebuilders is a £125 million investment fund financed by the Home Office. Their aim is to increase the capacity of the voluntary sector to deliver public services. TreeHouse has been offered a total of £5.2 million, Futurebuilders largest investment to date. £5 million has been awarded as loan finance towards the permanent building and £209,000 is a grant towards our policy and campaigning work. TreeHouse will repay the loan over 25 years through the fees it receives from LEAs.
