TreeHouse supports the End Child Poverty Event on 04 October 2008

03 September 2008

keep the promise campaign bannerTreeHouse became the 100th member of the Campaign to End Child Poverty in December and continue to show their support by inviting all to an event being held on Saturday 04 October 2008.

The campaign works to ensure the Government keeps its promise and meets its targets of halving child poverty by 2010 and eradicating it by 2020. To reach the 2010 target the Government needs to commit a further £4 billion in tax credits and benefits. Without this extra support families on low incomes will continue to do without basic necessities.

To persuade the Government to make the necessary investment to keep its promise, the Campaign to End Child Poverty is holding an event on Saturday 04 October 2008.

The event will begin with a short march from Millbank to Trafalgar Square, led by children and families. There will be children’s activities, entertainers, music, a film, speeches and a mass moment, where everyone will be asked to make as much noise as possible.

Please show your support by signing the petition on the End Child Poverty website, where you can also find out more about getting involved.
