Talk about autism

Welcome to the talk about autism community

Elena GoodrumHello, my name is Elena Goodrum and I'm the Community Manager of talk about autism. I'm here, along with our Community Champions, to guide you through the site, answer any questions and help you get the most out of the community.

The aim of the community is to provide a safe and supportive space where parents, carers, families and people on the spectrum can discuss issues surrounding autism. It's provided by TreeHouse, the national charity for autism education and sponsored by TalkTalk.

If you have any questions about how to use the site, please post them in the  Feedback and Help section or email me at elena@talkaboutautism.org.uk.

I look forward to reading your posts and I hope you enjoy our community!

-Elena

How to get started

To use the community you need to register - it's free and only takes a few minutes. Please start off by reading our Community Guidelines. You might also find the How to Use the Community page very helpful.

Once registered you can join in the Discussions where you can meet and talk to others. In here you can discuss issues such as Education, Autism in the News, Support and Campaigning Groups and Local Authority Services or just relax and chat in the The Social section. We also have a Neurodiversity Room which is a discussion area only for people on the spectrum.

A good starting point for joining the discussions is to post a brief introduction about yourself.

The community also offers an Ask a Professional section where you can pose questions to our Professionals and a Question and Answer section where you can ask your own questions and respond to others.

You can also join in one of our new features, a Monthly Member Q&A where we get to know one of our members a bit better throughout each month. Maybe you'll even feel brave enough to volunteer at some point!

We hope you will also join us here:
