Contact-a-Family ASD Support Group Ealing, 2008

Grace Hsieh (left) from Ealing Contact a Family with Linda Dickinson from FOCAS at the Parent Support Project Seminar held at TreeHouse, March 2007

In 2005 a small group of parents and carers of children with autism got together and now, two years later, is thriving with a membership of over 100. One of the greatest strengths of this group is their commitment to consultation: they are determined to seek the views of as many parents and carers in Ealing as possible, particularly from minority ethnic communities to inform their campaign. The group is looking to work with different partners to develop support for children with autism in mainstream education, especially in social settings and transition to adult services.
