TreeHouse at the 2008 Party Conference
Every September the TreeHouse Policy team attend each major political party’s conference. We hold fringe events around the main speeches and debates, attended by politicians, party members and colleagues from the children’s and disability sector. Fringe events are a great opportunity to raise the TreeHouse profile, promote our aims and build productive relationships with national and local decision makers, party members and relevant professionals.
This year we are holding our fringe events in partnership with the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID) and the National Union of Teachers (NUT) with the title ‘Improving Inclusion: Getting it right for the 1 in 5 children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)’. To coincide with the events we produced a research report on inclusive education. Please read the TreeHouse Inclusion Research Report.
We are attending the Liberal Democrats, Labour and Conservative Party conferences, along with the Trade Union Congress. Details of our fringe events are as follows:
