Training and Consultancy

Education is the only agreed effective intervention to help children with autism. That is why TreeHouse works with parents, professionals and policy-makers to develop and promote best practice in autism education nationally.

Our multi-professional team who are experienced in supporting children and young people with autism provides targeted training and consultancy across the UK.Training Session

Children and young people with autism may have very specific and individual support needs. Likewise, schools and support teams require a tailored development programme in order to best meet these needs. TreeHouse works in partnership with you to deliver training and consultancy programmes that focus on the development of practical strategies and interventions.

Our team can provide support to individuals and groups working across a range of settings - from teams of teachers and support staff within a school, to play scheme and activitiy club staff and individuals providing respite care.

We can provide training, advice, development support and practical strategies on a range of issues, including:

· Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD)

· Creating an autism friendly and communication friendly environment(within schools, clubs, home etc)

· Curriculum development and differentiation

· Individualised approaches to teaching and learning

· Target setting and writing individual education plans

· Increasing appropriate behaviour through reinforcement

· Managing challenging behaviour and creating behaviour plans

· Creating communication, play and social skills programmes

· Support for transition

· Differentiating the curriculum and target setting

· Approaches to teaching

· Using tasks analysis to break down skills for teaching

· Reinforcement strategies and schedules

· Other interventions guided by the principles of applied behaviour analysis

· Independent and daily living skills

· Teaching language and communication skills

We offer a wide range of training. These take the form of half or full day practical workshops and presentations. Such training opportunities aim to share good autism practice, practical advice and techniques for those supporting children and young people with autism. These can be arranged across the UK according to need. Training can also be tailored to meet specific needs of a group, such as for whole staff training and staff meetings.
