Corporate Fundraisers' Hall of Fame
2008
Northern Trust, based in Canary Wharf has donned their fund-raising hats for TreeHouse over the last few months. Staff at the global bank have taken part in dress down days, raffles and auctions and have so far raised over £2250 for TreeHouse.
Kemi Olaiya, the charity contact at Northern Trust has been working hard motivating staff and coordinating the fund-raising. A huge thank you to all those involved!
The Pyjama Room is a stylish and elegant clothing range for women. As a result of their hard work selling Christmas cards, the Pyjama Room raised £782 for TreeHouse.
We will be putting this money to good use for a project designed to help children with autism learn independent living skills, such as dressing themselves.
2007
Clear Channel
Clear Channel, the UK's market leader in Outdoor advertising, is supporting TreeHouse through free national media space and staff fundraising.
It is a wonderful chance for a small charity to make a huge impact. Clear Channel provides more than 70,000 outdoor advertising opportunities across its Clear Channel Billboards, Adshel and Taxi Media brands and is in a great position to help bring the Ambitious about Autism campaign to a much larger audience.
Led by charity champion Sarah Cokayne, the energetic Sales Team at Clear Channel’s Golden Square office kicked off their fundraising activities in February with a Bake Sale. They raised a tasty £97.00 for TreeHouse but after so many brownies, their next fundraiser might have to be a marathon!
FPP Design Ltd. (London office)
The London office of FPP has kindly supported TreeHouse through pro-bono design and artwork. FPP is a leading European brand communications agency with four key areas of expertise: marketing communications, environments, instore and interactive.
Steve Nodwell and Kristian Munt were happy to lend the TreeHouse corporate fundraising team their expertise: “It’s great to be able to make a contribution to such a brilliant cause. FPP has many years of expertise in communications but we also have a young team with lots of energy. We found working with a charity really motivating and now can’t wait to visit TreeHouse’s School in Muswell Hill. We look forward to our next project with TreeHouse.”
Royal Bank of Scotland Group
Over Christmas (2006/07), The Royal Bank of Scotland gave away a total of £1 million - £10,000 to 90 children’s charities and £100,000 to one lucky winner. The charities were decided by a public vote organised by The Daily Mail. Thanks to the fantastic response of TreeHouse supporters, TreeHouse is delighted to be one of the lucky 90 charities to receive £10,000.
2006
Credit Suisse
In November TreeHouse was delighted to be short listed, from hundreds of applications, to the final three charities considered to be Credit Suisse’s Charity of the Year in 2007. TreeHouse staff and parents had a wonderful day at Credit Suisse’s offices in Canary Wharf and enjoyed speaking to their 6,000 staff, promoting TreeHouse. A staff vote was completed and TreeHouse lost by a narrow margin. However Credit Suisse made a wonderful gesture of a gift of £10,000 as a consolation prize, a donation that will be used to support children and families affected by autism. Thank you Credit Suisse!
2005
Onetel (Stornoway office)
The fifth Hebridean Challenge took place in July and TreeHouse was delighted that a team of Onetel employees competed in aid of the charity. Norrie Macdonald (Road Bike), William Campbell (Hill Running), Paul Smith (Mountain Bike), Saul Hindson (Sea Kyaking), Nina Hakanpaa (Sea Swimmer), with back-up team Calum Moody, Ellen Maclean, Elizabeth Homer-Macarthur, trained hard to ensure they were ready for the gruelling multi disciplinary challenge. ''We have literally gone from flabby after Christmas / New Year slobs to hopefully finely tuned athletes, under the watchful eye of Tony Wade. It was one of those mad ideas which came to fruition as we all fully believe in the TreeHouse cause. We have days of "Why are we doing this" when we hit exhaustion point, but it doesn't take long for one of us to remind the other our reasons'' said one team member.
2004
BG Group
TreeHouse would like to thank BG Group for its generous donation of 24 pocket PCs. The latest technology offered by these IPAQs is already enabling us to reduce significantly the amount of time required to collect, enter and translate crucial data to support the work in the school. Additionally, as with all of TreeHouse’s work, once piloted and evaluated, the use of this technology can be replicated in other provisions both in the UK and internationally. Many thanks to John Phillis and all at BG Group.
Merrill Lynch
TreeHouse is enormously grateful to Merrill Lynch for its generous donation of £17,000 raised from the One Hour Appeal. A special presentation was made in February to all the recipient charities. The One Hour Appeal is an initiative which encourages employees to donate the last hour of their year’s salary for the benefit of a small number of charities of the employees’ choice. TreeHouse is delighted to have been selected as one of the recipients of the 2004 One Hour Appeal and would like to say a special thank you to Richard Weisfeld, Director of Equity Trading at Merrill Lynch, for his commitment and enthusiasm for TreeHouse. We are also particular grateful to Camilla Fletcher for all her hard work. TreeHouse looks forward to furthering its relationship with Merrill Lynch for the benefit of all the children at TreeHouse. Thank you Merrill Lynch.
