The Challenge of a Lifetime
Life is full of challenges, and no one knows that more keenly than parents who live with the daily challenge of bringing up a child with autism. Everyone has a different reason for taking up a personal challenge and you will have your own. Perhaps autism has affected your life or the lives of people dear to you and you would like to do something to make a difference – whatever the reason, TreeHouse can give you that opportunity and at the same time you can make other people’s dreams come true by raising money to help transform the lives of children with autism and the lives of their families!
TreeHouse has teamed up with Global Adventure Challenges who are a small and highly experienced Adventure Challenge Company specialising in working with charities. As TreeHouse is Ambitious about Autism, Global Adventure Challenges is ambitious to ensure that each participant enjoys taking part in a truly unforgettable experience which will raise vital funds for their chosen charity. Each challenge is meticulously planned by experienced professionals with both safety and fun as the top priorities. Groups are kept small to minimise the impact on the environment and to ensure that you receive a personal and rewarding experience from your challenge.
So the only decision you have to make is where you want to go!
We have highlighted just a few here to wet your appetite or for inspiration read about why Tim Barber has chosen to climb a mountain for TreeHouse.
The Great Wall
2008 will see the completion of the great walls of TreeHouse’s National Centre for Autism Education. 2008 could be the year that you scale the heights and trek over the watch-towers of the greatest walls on earth the Great Wall of China, raising money to help TreeHouse complete its much longed for centre of excellence for autism education. The trek will culminate in you placing your very own brick in the Wall, whilst back at TreeHouse, your efforts will ensure that the National Centre takes a step closer to completion and TreeHouse will finally have a permanent home from which it can continue to help children with autism for generations to come.
Summit Kilimanjaro - The Lemosho Trail
Scale the heights of one of the most majestic mountains in the world – the extraordinary Mt Kilimanjaro, and help TreeHouse Raise the Roof on its National Centre for Autism Education. Hike through rain forest along the stunningly beautiful Lemosho climbing all the while across plateau, moorland meadow and volcanic scree until you reach the summit, Uruhu Peak, at 5895m, the top of the worlds’ highest free-standing mountain. This is certainly not a challenge for the faint hearted, but you will experience the satisfaction of knowing that your extraordinary efforts will be helping to Raise the Roof on TreeHouse’s permanent home which will offer hope and support for families of children with autism for generations to come.
